Only one goal in his initial ten top-flight games this campaign had plenty of doubting whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin's peak were over.
But, a just four weeks afterwards, he is the most discussed striker in England following bagging seven goals in six consecutive games.
His latest finish, in a 1-1 draw versus Sunderland, elevated his total to eight, establishing him as the highest English scorer in the Premier League this campaign.
A Remarkable Revival
The 28-year-old signed for Leeds United on a free transfer in the summer, following a nine-year stint with Everton that was hampered by fitness issues in its final stages.
But, the statistics underpinning his resurgence in Daniel Farke's new fast-breaking 3-5-2 formation are extremely notable.
His six-match scoring sequence sees him in exclusive company as only the 11th English player to score in six or more successive Premier League matches.
To provide context, even England captain Harry Kane did not achieve a run of this length - his top stands at two separate five-match streaks.
And the sole English striker to better Calvert-Lewin in recent memory is Jamie Vardy, who embarked on an eight-game scoring spree for Leicester City in 2019.
What's Behind the Hot Streak?
What is behind Calvert-Lewin so tough to stop in this period? A previous opponent's manager explained it aptly.
"He has the impeccable timing," the manager said. "He's smart and a really good striker and he found the timing to arrive exactly when needed."
That nose for goal and timing inside the 18-yard box was what made him a beloved player at his previous club.

Calvert-Lewin's resurgence has naturally sparked discussions of an England recall.
The ex- Sheffield United player has eleven England appearances, scoring four goals, but has not featured for the Three Lions since the last European Championship.
Pundits believe the striker will be in contention for the World Cup squad if he can maintain this level.
"He looks as in shape as he has in a long time," one commented. "If he continues this level of form... then he's going to be in a discussion for a World Cup place."
Stiff Rivalry
However, the battle for places behind Harry Kane is intense.
Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa, fresh off a match-winning double against Chelsea, is presently seen as leading in the hierarchy, according to some analysis.
