The Blue Jays Secure World Series Matchup Against Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Astros securing the championship in 2017.

Canada's MLB team earned a spot in their first Fall Classic after 1993 by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive game seven of the ALCS.

Down three runs to one, the star outfielder hit a three-run blast in the seventh, propelling the only Canadian franchise in the majors to a 4-3 triumph in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the Dodgers, the team that is the current crown, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for everyone here, the city, Canada," Springer stated, a star of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an incredible feeling."

The veteran has now slugged 23 post-season home runs, making him third on the list behind Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine anyone else anywhere that I want up in that spot besides George Springer with his October magic," noted manager John Schneider.

Seattle, after leading the series two games to none and three games to two, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a championship series.

Manager Dan Wilson said "there's no question that it's going to sting" in the wake of his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but commended their performance throughout the year.

"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we finished on the unsuccessful side of the series," he remarked.

Toronto secured the championship on each of their earlier trips in the early 90s, and will welcome the Dodgers in the first game on this Friday.
