That Gory Cartoon Movie Ending That Haunts Fans

Out of every mature animated films I have personally viewed, nothing has remained with me quite like the fear-filled finale of the graphically gory as well as overwhelingly transgressive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spanish writer-director created a dark, somber , frequently brutal universe that included several minor , desolate hints of hope.

While Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from a drive to expand animation further, the filmmaker clarified that it was rather an attempt to express a global, multicultural message regarding “the shared root of every conflict.”

That message is communicated through a group of vividly colored bears , openly inspired by a famous series of lovable figures.

Growing up in a society built around militarism as well as the war machine, many of these animals are obsessed with killing unicorns, due to a sacred text that tells them they previously were masters of the woodland, before these creatures drove them out.

Some haven’t fully accepted the brainwashing, , choose to experiment with substances or fornicate in the forest.

Unlike their friendly equivalents, these vivid animals have visible genitals and definite sex drives.

For a particular notably brutal, skeptical animal, the bear named Bluey, the conflict against unicorns becomes a road toward dominance — and especially to dominance over his gentler, kinder brother Tubby.

This bear acts as a tormentor and an apparent sociopath , and as horror overcomes his squad and claims his comrades individually, he seizes more and more influence on his own behalf, in increasingly gory, damaging approaches.

Simultaneously, the horned creatures are experiencing their own horror, as a growing, deadly beast in their woods.

“In the early stages, it appears as a humorous movie,” the filmmaker said. “Yet it turns into a more dramatic and sad movie. And by the end, it becomes a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars commences feeling a bit like one of the more whimsical features from an iconic animator, which find a naughty glee in permitting cartoon characters curse, engage in violence, or engage sexually.

Subsequently it becomes closer to a darker work from that director, including ever more visual gore , a noticeable relation to genuine horror of battle.

In the finale, it is a full-on Grand Guignol carnage.

The fear that turns this an ideal spooky-season watch begins much sooner than indicated.

The Unicorn Wars is one for the hardcore lovers of violence, for enthusiasts of intense movies who want to view a movie they have not watched previously, and are able to withstand a story that offers no restraint.

Watch it in a dark room without any distractions, and the conclusion will crawl under your skin and take up residence there.
