Just as Storm Claudia tore through the northern region the prior day, Manchester City swept United aside at the their home ground. It was a statement three-nil win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their championship potential as they strengthened their position at the top of the table.
