Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a former doctor has been charged with performing assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
